Length of study and credit requirements

Length of study: one to four years
Graduation Credits: At least 24 credits.
Required courses: determined by the class meeting of the master program or the teaching and curriculum committee of program.

If the postgraduate students of this master’s program take education courses, they must complete the course requirements of this master’s program before they can apply for educational practice.

Students choose their supervisors to be mainly full-time faculty members of this program. After obtaining the professor’s consent, professor and student and need to sign the “Confirmation Form for Supervisors” and submit it to the program office for an announcement.

Students wishing to change their supervisor must fill in the “Application for Change of Supervisor’s Identification” of the master’s class, which must be agreed by the original supervisor and the changed supervisor, and confirmed by the master’s head teacher or the master’s class meeting.

Journey to PhD

The regulations for the direct study of doctoral degree for postgraduates of this master’s program are handled in accordance with the regulations of “Regulations for Direct Study of Doctoral Degree for Master’s Programs of Tzu Chi University”.

Degree examination

1.Eligibility requirements for students of this master’s program to apply for the master’s dissertation examination:

(1) Graduate students must present their thesis work with poster or oral presentations as the first author in public academic conference, or publish in academic journals.

(2) All required courses have been taken in the semester in which the application is made, and the scores of the completed subjects have reached 70 points or above.

2.Submit an application for the degree examination in accordance with the “Tzu Chi University General Rules for Examinations for Ph.D. and Master’s Degrees”.

3.Criteria of oral defense for thesis:

(1) The examination results are calculated based on the average of the scores of all the examination committee members present. If more than half (inclusive) of the committee members assess the oral defense is failed, it will be regarded as a failure.

(2) The thesis test scores are based on 100 as the full score, and 70 as the pass criteria.

4.If there are any unfinished matters, it shall be handled in accordance with the “General Regulations for Tzu Chi University’s Ph.D. and Master’s Degree Examinations”.

Registration, enrollment, retention of enrollment qualifications, suspension of schooling, resumption of schooling, change of name and age, punishment for violations of school rules, and graduation, etc., shall be handled in accordance with the relevant provisions of the school’s school rules.
